Infomedia is a leading software company that provides innovative parts, service, and data solutions to the global automotive industry. With over 30 years of experience, Infomedia supports manufacturers and dealerships in more than 186 countries through its suite of SaaS platforms that drive efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction across the aftersales lifecycle. Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Infomedia continues to expand its global presence with a focus on digital transformation, operational excellence, and long-term industry partnerships.

BACKGROUND

As Infomedia expanded its global footprint and operations, internal capacity was being tested. Transactional Finance work began piling up, creating pressure on the local Finance Team. Scaling was necessary but not at the cost of flexibility or quality. The opportunity? Offshore support. The goal? Build a reliable, consistent, high-performing Team that could grow with the business.

The move began with 3 offshore Accounting roles to support Infomedia in 2019. The results were immediate and over the next six years, the offshore Team grew to 10 Finance and Accounting roles and expanded to support Infomedia’s IT and Product Team with 9 more staff, delivering not just cost savings but continuity, capability, and culture.

TESTIMONIAL

Infomedia’s initial decision to offshore transactional Finance activities was driven by the need to reduce costs. But as the Team and business matured, the advantages of offshoring expanded far beyond cost-efficiency.

“Though the decision predated my time here,” says Claire Hepburn, Financial Controller at Infomedia, “It gives us the ability to be flexible around timing of staff hours. Our optiBPO colleagues are located in one optiBPO office location but are resourced across Australian, US or European time zones with some overlap in hours between the optiBPO and Infomedia members to help build collaborative culture”. Offshore resourcing allowed Infomedia to work more flexibly across time zones while maintaining strong collaborative culture.

optiBPO’s commitment goes beyond recruitment. Their support extends into every stage of Team management from onboarding to development, from strategic workforce planning to continuous improvement. This proactive partnership has allowed Infomedia to maintain consistency, enhance capability, and sustain engagement across borders.

VALUE THAT GOES BEYOND COST

While labour cost savings remain a key benefit, the impact of the offshore Team reaches deeper

“Primary value is lower labour expenses, allowing us to scale and ensure our Team are the right size for the company. We have access to a wide range of talents and ability to work across time zones in a central location,” Claire shares.

The outcome? A more agile, efficient Finance operation one that adapts to business needs without compromising quality.

WHAT STOOD MOST

Claire had reservations, shaped by a prior less than ideal offshoring experience. But the Infomedia-optiBPO partnership proved different.

“The seamless integration and high calibre of candidates and ability to work across borders successfully has been a fantastic experience” She says.

Perhaps the most telling success? Longevity and growth.

“Our first two hires, nearly six years ago, are still with us and now they’re in managerial roles within the optiBPO team. That says a lot about the strength of the relationship, our culture, and the opportunities we’ve built together.”
